I grew up around nice cars. My father drove a succession of Jaguars and my mother had Triumphs. I had a 1968 Triumph Vitesse for a while and loved it to death so it’s hardly surprising that I am drawn to the Goodwood Revival, where they race old cars with zeal. I enjoy taking panning shots, which are intended to give a real sense of speed, but as I can’t get trackside, I like to wander around the paddocks and try to capture the atmosphere as much as the beautiful, historic machines.

I know my motor-racing history and, in case you’d like to know, I am completely besotted with 1950s Sports Cars. The very next time I have a few million pounds to spare, I will pop out and buy an Aston Martin DBR1 or, maybe, a D-Type Jag or a Maserati.
